Why do non-smoking women also become high-risk people with lung cancer? Today, Cao Guihua, chief physician of the Longgang District Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Shenzhen, said that the exposed fumes in the kitchen are the main cause, and cooking habits should be changed and ventilation should be strengthened.
Cao Guihua told reporters that a research report by the Indoor Environment Monitoring Center of China Interior Decoration Association recently showed that the kitchen is the most polluted space in the family. The main sources of pollution are two aspects: one is from coal, gas, liquefied gas, etc. The harmful gases such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxides released from the fire source; the second is the soot produced when cooking dishes. The fumes produced by cooking in daily life have many hazards and hidden dangers, and have become a stealth killer of people's lives, especially the majority of women who often cook, and even suffer.
Cao Guihua said that cooking smoke is a volatile substance produced by thermal cracking of edible oils and foods at high temperatures. It contains many harmful or even carcinogenic substances. Its main component is acrolein, which has a strong spicy taste. It is suitable for nose, eyes and throat. The mucous membrane is highly irritating and can cause respiratory diseases such as rhinitis, pharyngitis, and bronchitis. Long-term inhalation of this soot can also lead to asthma exacerbation, thereby increasing the chance of developing lung cancer.
